A little home cookin’ restaurant near you

A little home cookin’ restaurant near you

Did you just google “restaurant near me”? If you’re looking for some good old fashioned home cooking, there is a nice little restaurant tucked away in Arvada, the Home Cookin’ Cafe. Now, there are is some exceptional restaurants in the Denver Metro area, and many of them are focused on breakfast/brunch.  Many of which have very distinctive, unique flavor blends and original recipes.  Sometimes with all the focus on “new” and “all the rage” breakfast joints it is hard to find just a nice, quaint, genuinely good old fashioned home cooked breakfast.  No frills, just good.  This is exactly what Home Cookin Cafe has created.

Home Cookin’ Cafe

This restaurant is family owned, the owners moved here from Chicago, letting go of their 25-year-old restaurant back home.  It is no surprise with how great the food tastes and the quality of service you receive that the owners used to have a long-running 25-year-old restaurant in Chicago that they left behind to start this little gem here in Arvada, CO.

2-2-2 On the menu

I had the daily breakfast special, the 2-2-2 (two eggs, choice of meat and two pieces of french toast or pancakes) and couldn’t decide between patty or link so the server suggested one of each, which was a great suggestion!  The french toast was nothing fancy, just flavorful. Simple and sweet, with a subtle hint of vanilla, light and fluffy and it melted in your mouth.  My eggs were perfectly cooked over medium and the sausage patty and link were great.  Just like your mom would make (or grandma)! Again, no frills, just good.

Honestly, I don’t remember what my husband ordered, I just know he enjoyed his meal because it was gone rather quickly.  I didn’t even have any time to steal a taste. Although I did save him a few bites of my french toast.

I can’t speak for their lunch…yet, I will be back to taste their hamburgers.

This cute little restaurant is tucked away in Arvada, just off of 64th & Quaker.  The food isn’t overpriced. The service was great and there seems to be a lot of regulars (which is always a good sign).

If you are in the area make sure to stop in and support a local family owned restaurant. If you have any suggestions or feedback please share them with us or give us a call if you would like to feature a great spot to dine.
