Things to do in Denver this weekend

Time to start planning for the weekend!  We’ve gathered some great events that will be starting up, along with a few great restaurants you may want to try! Here are some things to do in Denver this weekend:

Today, Thursday, April 6th @ 10:00 am, Yoga On The Rocks returns (YOTR) today the four-packs with access to all the sessions is on sale for $52, Individual session tickets will go on sale for $14 on Saturday, April 8th.  Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced yogi, this is an experience you won’t want to miss. Experience level does not matter.  This is the fifth year of YOTR.  Getting to do yoga at Red Rocks gives you a whole new meaning to “sun salutations”! There is no other view in Colorado quite like it!  The tickets will sell quickly so you better grab them before it’s too late. Sessions will start in June and will run through August.

Tonight, Thursday, April 6th from 6 pm- 10pm @ Black Black Coffee, 3459 Ringsby Court, FREE- There will be a coffee tasting competition and latte art competition, for any who would like to enter the contest it is a $10 entry fee with a chance to win $350.  There will be FREE cocktails for all who attend!

Friday, April 7th- First Friday’s Art Walk- FREE- Check out all the art districts for free, sipping some cocktails and enjoying everything the art walks have to offer.  There are at least 7 art districts in Denver, plus more art walks across Colorado.  There is a free Drink RiNo Circulator Bus that runs 5 pm – midnight along Walnut St. between 27th & 37th.  Might be worth marking your calendars to hit a new art district every First Friday!

Come and enjoy Denver’s newest breakfast and brunch destination the Morning Collective, from the former executive chef of Snooze, Joseph Strelnik. Doors opened officially on April 3rd and so far there is nothing but rave reviews!  It is supposed to be neither a greasy spoon nor an uppity by-product of Denver’s breakfast room, per Eater Denver’s review. With menu items such as stuffed pistachio tres-leche pancake, and pork belly benedict, YUM!

This Monday, April 10th is a FREE day at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I know it is not a weekend event but it may be something you would like to plan ahead to do.   Their new Kids Discovery Zone is filled with fun activities for all ages.  Including a play pit where you can get to be an archaeologist discovering dinosaur bones. Or how about putting together a human skeleton or perhaps touching the Madagascar cockroach! Plus, you can travel into space in the Space Odyssey exhibit. Go through a miners tunnel and see all the gems and minerals!

Have fun whatever you choose to do and please share your experience with us!
