Events you don’t want to miss this weekend July 13-15, 2018

This weekend, July 13-15th is filled with some great unique events you won’t want to miss.  One of which I would like to highlight is the Summer Flea.  It is brought to you by  The Denver Flea which also has a holiday flea in December and is exceptional. Why wouldn’t the summer be anything less?  Time to carve out your time this weekend because all these events you may not want to miss!

The Summer Flea is from July 13-15 @ the Rock Drill in RiNo, with over 100 local vendors to shop.  Friday night is when festivities begin with “Talking Heads & Tacos” party from 5-9 pm.  The concert is with local Talking Heads tribute band Little Creatures, paired with tacos from your favorite Denver spots, all along with shopping your Flea vendors early!  If you can’t make it on Friday then you have all Saturday & Sunday to drop in.  Get your Holiday shopping early or just get some must-have gift items for any occasion or take this time for yourself and treat yourself to a unique gift!  Hint: Buy your tickets ahead of time online so you can avoid the long lines! Plus if you purchase your tickets before the weekend you will receive a free one-year 5280 magazine print subscription!   Oh, and I forgot to mention there are craft cocktails, wine, beer and food to accompany you while you shop!

Slow Food Nations Free festival on Larimer Square July 13-15th. This is the second annual Slow Food Nations three-day celebration extravaganza for food lovers!  Especially those who enjoy sustainably sourced food and drinks, with this year’s theme “Food for Change”. The purpose of the group is to prevent the disappearance of local food cultures and traditions, counteract the rise of fast life, and combat people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, including where it comes from and how food choices affect the world. There will be more than 50 different free and ticketed food tastings, dinners, workshops and family-friendly events. Friday night is the kickoff and will have live music accompanied by food and beverage and is free and open to the public.  Saturday is the Global street food social, so get ready to taste some great food and delicious global drink pairings.  Come to explore new flavors and meet some celebrity chefs!

For more events to explore you may like to check out the Colorado Black Arts Festival @ City Park Fri-Sun, and the Colorado Irish Festival @ Clement Park in Littleton, and also the Summer Soiree, a swinging’ summer rooftop party benefiting Youth on Record.

As always, please share any local events you attend and/or know about that you would like us to post!

Have a great weekend!
