Fun activities for the kids

Fun activities for the kids

If your little one’s are getting a little stir crazy with the doing the same old indoor activities, library or playgrounds, here are some fun activities for the kids that could have your remedy, such as… the children’s museum!  If you haven’t already been to the newly renovated children’s museum now may be the time.  They have recently finished their $16.1 million expansion that not only doubled their existing space but included the addition of 6 new exhibits, such as the one-half story climber called Altitude filled with Colorado icons and a 360 degree glass peak, plus an art studio and a teaching kitchen where kids can be the chefs in a hands-on fully equipped kitchen.  If you are looking to save on costs the museum has Target Tuesday Nights, where you can come play for free every first Tuesday of the month from 4-8pm! Another free day adventure is the Denver Zoo this January 8th & 9th and if these days won’t work, here is the link to the Free days this year at the Denver Zoo.

Don’t forget to check out the National Western Stock Show coming this January 9th -24th, with a parade kickoff tomorrow January 7th at Noon!  It will be a sight to see with the marching bands, floats, horseback riders, cowboys and cowgirls and also longhorn cattle! The parade starts at Union Station and runs down 17th Street.  You won’t want to miss it! *Fan appreciation day is January 24th, the last day of the stock show and tickets run $10 for adults and $3 for children (3-11).

And with the chilly temperatures how about some afternoon tea!  The kids will enjoy some finger sandwiches, buttery scones served with jam, lemon curd and Devonshire cream. Check out the House of Commons, served daily from 10 am to 6 pm.

If you come across any other activities please be sure to share with us as well as keep in touch with us on our FB page.
